Hot food storage appliance

The appliance is a container (1) which can be carried by one person and preferably has thermally insulated sides (2), base (3) and/or cover (4). The latter contain an easily exchangeable, heatable thermal storage medium or one which can be heated by an external power supply. Heater elements can be integrated into the base and/or sides which have an external connecter and are thermally bonded to the storage medium. The heating elements can be tubes or electric elements. The storage medium can be a material in the temperature range between 50 and 120 deg. C. It has a physical phase change of the first order.
