<p>The system includes a reading device (3) and a control unit (4) with a recording medium management device (5) which stores data read from the table of contents which identify the range of information stored on the recording medium. A reader drive unit (6) read from the recording medium after preselection by the user with a sequential programming unit (8) permitting the user to order the selection. The ordered play sequences are then stored in memory (10) after validation by the user. The programming unit is separate from the drive unit, and the storage system so the sequential memory is accessible to both the sequential programming unit and the drive unit. This arrangement allows the programming unit to be accessed during operation of the drive unit so as to permit modification to the contents of the sequential memory.</p> |
