Parts of the rear of the vehicle or at least the lift and tip devices (4) fixed to the rear or the fixtures for the lift and tip devices are so articulately coupled to one another that they effect a reduction of the height of the overall rear part in the unfolded, virtually horizontal state. The lift and tip device on the rear of the vehicle or its fixture rail, preferably in its upper area, has a link or a link shaft (6") which is used to unfold the lift and tip device or parts of it. The unfolding of a part of the rear or the lift and tip device is effected by means of a power-operated device such as an hydraulic piston (5") or a rotary motor.
