A reducing film 30 having its reflectance changed by being irradiated with a laser beam of an intensity higher than a predetermined value is formed. The depth of a pit 14 in a data section is set to less than a quarter of the wavelength of the laser beam, and the reproducing film 30 has its reflectance lowered by being irradiated with a laser beam of an intensity not lower than the predetermined level.
