The present invention discloses a process for determining the presence of an instantaneous fluid flow following the rebound phase of a piston (1) consecutive to the impact thereof, said fluid flowing from an upper chamber (8) towards a high pressure fluid feeding circuit (5), said pressure being determined from the pressure differential between the upper chamber and the feeding circuit. In the event of sensing said flow, a pressurized fluid is fed to a driving device so as to displace the track (13) of said driving device in the direction of the drop piston stroke elongation.
