Commercial vehicle pneumatic line plug and socket connector

A push-fit couple for a pneumatic system consists of a receiving socket (2) and a plug (4) on the end of a shaft (6). The interface between the plug and shaft is sealed. The plug has an outlet (8) which fits the socket aperture. When the plug is inserted in the socket, it is held in place by a clip lock (12) which fits into both a recess (14) in the socket body and a recess (16) in the plug section. The lock becomes effective before the plug reaches its travel end-point in the socket, by release into a pre-lock recess (18) within the plug. The clip lock may be built with a notched, radially elastic holding ring.
