PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ARTIFICIAL LEATHER HEAVING EXCELLENT SUPPLENESS

Manmade leather with good flexibility is manufactured by forming micro pores in a polyurethane elastomer. Synthetic fiber such as nylon 6, polyethylene terephthalate undergoes a padding process by contactingpolyvinyl alcohol of 3-15% concentration for softness contacted with the PU elastomer. DMF solution of a polyether PU elastomer of low molecular diol, macroglycol, and diisocyanate is mixed with silica powder with an average granule size of 2-10 micrometers as much as 5-10% of PU solids for a superfine fiber. Extraction of the silica from the elastomer provides a microporous manmade leather with good flexibility.
