The device includes a pressure sensor (7) and a temperature sensor (8) which are placed on a pressure regulator (3). The regulator controls the pressure of the oil pumped through a hydraulic circuit by a pump (4). A hydraulic screw (2) actuates the mobile contact of a circuit breaker (1). The two sensors measure the pressure and temperature inside the regulator and transmit the information to a computer (9). The data are processed to determine, for each pressure- temperature pair of values, whether pressure in the regulator has dropped below a temperature dependent threshold.
