The sealing ring (6) is mounted between the drive shaft (1) of a windscreen wiper arm (2) and the edge of the shaft passage hole (3a) in a grille (3). Lower (7) and upper (8) washers are supported respectively on the lower (3b) and upper (3c) faces of the passage hole. The two washers have an external circumference with a diameter greater than that of the hole and are fixed to each other by a sleeve surrounding the shaft. The lower washer sleeve has a truncated part (7b) connected to a flange (7d) by a cylindrical part (7c). The upper washer is domed so that its internal circumference (8b) is located above its external circumference (8a). The lower washer is made of a rigid material and the upper washer is made of a supple material.
