Sensor for impinging particles in a fluid with measures for suppressing the bursting of bubbles

The detection of solid particles contained in a fluid also containing bubbles can be made at a higher accuracy because the vibration caused by the bubbles, containing the primary resonance vibration (figure 9) is decreased. This vibration is generated not by the impact of direct collision of bubbles with the vibrating section or detection section of the sensor element, but by the bursting of bubbles on the sensor element or in its vicinity. Such a bursting is suppressed by the following measures: 1) a net upstream 2) increasing the inside housing pressure 3) arranging troughholes more distant from the detecting section 4) the periphery of the inlet of each throughhole is chambered 5) inner wall of each troughhole being smooth 6) fluid contacts the sensor element at an angle of less than 90 degrees. <IMAGE> <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
