摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the size of a copy header registration table small and to shorten a table retrieval time at the same time by adopting the bit map format for the copy header registration table. SOLUTION: For example, a broadcast input cell stream 1 of VPI=X and VCI=0 of a header part is copied to cells of VCI=0 and VPI=16, 17, and 255. Data are set previously in a multi-address VPI bit map information table 23. A given read address generation part 21 retrieves high-order and low-order addresses of a table 23 in order to read a high-order address 0 and a low-order address 1 out, and passes read data 11 to a given VPI(virtual path identifier) generation part 24 since data d0 and d1 are set to a copy required status. The generation part 24 generates given VCI=0 and given VPI=16 to copy cells and passes them as a given VPI value 102 to a VPI granting part 7. The granting part 7 outputs a read signal 105 to a cell buffer part 2 to read data 104 out, rewrites the given VPI at the VPI part of the header of a cell held in a buffer part 2, and generates and outputs a cell of VPI=16.
