Microwave source for millimetric satellite communication

The source has a transistor amplifier (10) which operates at microwave or millimetric frequencies. The amplifier couples the input to a parallel reactive circuit and may be formed from MESFETs or HEMTs. The reactive circuit is used to couple a dielectric resonator (12) which operates in 'whispering gallery mode'. The oscillator produces a high purity spectrum.
