PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance rapid processing aptitude and the quality of characters obtained by laser beam scanning exposure by specifying a relation between an exposure amount of obtaining a specified density and an exposure amount for obtaining a specified fog density in the characteristic curve of a magenta color developed image. SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion layer of this photosensitive material contains silver halide grains having a silver chloride content of >=95mol%, and an exposure amount (EM1) capable of obtaining a density of 2.0 in the characteristic curve of the magenta image obtained by the scanning exposure using laser beams and followed by color development pressing and an exposure amount (EM2) capable of obtaining a fog density of 0.02 in the same characteristic curve satisfy the following relation; 0.9<=log(EM1)-log(EM2)<=1.8, preferably 1.0-1.6, and an N value of the magenta image obtained by scanning exposure amount (EM1) using laser beams is in 100-200μm.
