The drive system comprises a gearing (12) and a torque distribution gearing (10) for distributing the torque to the front and rear axles (18,36) of the vehicle. The torque distribution gearing comprises an input shaft (112) which is connected to the gearing. It also has first and second output shafts (16,32) for transmitting a torque to corresponding first and second axles (18,36). An intermediate axle differential (118) is located between the input shaft and the first and second output shafts, and conveys a torque from the two input shafts to the two output shafts.
