Method for quantitative determination of protein comprises: (a) depositing the protein on a cellulose acetate carrier; (b) staining the protein with amido black; (c) removing excess stain; (d) dissolving the carrier and adherent stained protein in an acid solution, and (e) measuring the amount of stain by spectrophotometry.
