Composite wood and plastics window frame connected by clip fixings

The frame (1) has rotationally symmetrical clip fixings (16) spaced at centres along the outside face of a one-piece wooden structural frame (3,4) for the attachment of a weather-proofing plastics outer cover frame (7,8). The clip fixings can have peg-like plugs (16a) inserted into recesses (17) in the wooden frame, or may be screwed, glued or nailed. The plastics frame can be made from hollow sections welded together into one piece. The hollow sections can incorporate drain holes and passageways and grooves (15) for seals.
