PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gypsum-based composition, remarkably improved in operating efficiency at the time of separating thereof from a trowel and troweling the composition and having sagging resistance without deteriorating water retaining properties. SOLUTION: This gypsum-based composition comprises a gypsum, a nonionic water-soluble cellulose ether having 100-10,000mPa.s viscosity of its 2% aqueous solution and a hydropropylated starch having 0.5-30wt.% hydroxypropylation degree and/or a gum or its modified substance. The content of the nonionic water-soluble cellulosic ether is 0.01-3 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. gypsum and the content of the hydroxyopropylated starch having 0.5-30wt.% hydroxypropylation degree and/or gum or its modified substance is 1-50wt.% based on the nonionic water-soluble cellulosic ether. |
