The clutch comprises a principal body (A) with a shock absorbing plate (12) fixed to its periphery. The shock absorbing plate has several shock absorbing parts (12b) located on its external circumference. The external circumference has several circumferentially spaced rivet holes (12c) and a cut out (12d) in an edge part (12e) of each shock absorbing part. Two adjacent cut outs define a positioning hole. First and second friction linings (13) each have positioning holes (13c) and axially spaced rivet holes (13a) located on opposite sides extending radially from the shock absorber plate. A first set of rivets (14) inserted in the first friction lining holes pass through the shock absorber plate and the first friction lining. A second set of rivets in the second friction lining pass through the shock absorber plate and this lining. The positioning holes in the shock absorber plate are not aligned axially with the rivet holes.
