A paper copy is fed to the unit via a funnel from which it is guided to folding rollers (5,6) which operate in conjunction with a roller on which folding flaps are mounted. The folding rollers carry covers (28,29) which are mounted above a channel (26) in which the folding tools (18,20) are mounted. The covers limit a gap (27) through which the folding tools operate and have rounded edges (30) at the sides which lie adjacent to the gap.
