Contour grinding method for spectacles lens peripheral edge

The method uses a spectacles lens edge grinding machine with a driven shaft (6,7) supporting the spectacles lens blank (9) and a relatively displaced rotary grinding disc (2). The torque of the drive motor for the shaft and/or the grinding disc is measured for regulation of the grinding pressure and the rotation of the shaft. The grinding process may be terminated when the measured torque of one or both drive motors is below a given value continuously over a full rotation of the shaft.
