The plate has one or more port connections of equal or dissimilar section and a cylindrical aperture and securement holes (4). The cylinder aperture can vary within the limit of the stud holes and the plate itself has a height determined by the engine served. The plate can be made of ceramic, metal or plastics and fits into both horizontal or vertical engine housings and is installed in these or angled settings and can be constructed to suit multi-cylinder engines if required. The crankcase has right (1) and left (2) halves here divided vertically to form the gear space, using the holes (4) to secure the plate (3) to the crankcase. The connection holes can be varied to suit the cylinder design and size as fixed to the connection plate (3).
