A papermaking or cardboard production machine has an additional and fixed heater (13) extending over a length of the web (7), on the direction of web (7) travel. The web (7) and heater (13) are in direct contact with each other. A pressure force is applied at right angles to the web (7), at the contact zone between heater (13) and web (7).
