Bleed valve for pipe or vessel has two cylinders and pistons along same axis

The bleed valve shuts an outlet (14) in a pipe or vessel by a block (6) positioned at right angles to and over the outlet (14). The block is moved by a push rod (5) under the influence of a piston in a cylinder within a housing (1). The housing has two cylinders (8, 9) and associated pistons (28, 29) along the pushrod axis. The cylinder axes are at right angles to the pushrod axis. The piston faces are presented to the inner face of the housing wall in which the outlet is located. The housing is hinged on and swivels against the wall (15). The housing swivel-axis (16) is at right angles to the pushrod axis between the two cylinders.
