In-service monitoring method for servo equipment

The method involves detecting the time lag between the operation of the drive unit for the equipment via a drive switch (16) and the response of the position sensor detecting the rest position of the equipment. The detected time lag is compared with stored data for analysis of the equipment. The stored data may be obtained by measurements provided during the initial operation of the equipment, with a fault indicated when the measured time lag differs from the stored time lag by more than a given amount.
