The system has a laser printer 1 coupled to a colour ink-jet printer 2 and to a personal computer, PC 3, to generate am image reproduction facility. The printers are coupled to a controller 8 via Centronic standard connectors 5,6 and an interface circuit 4. The interface has a switching module 11 that selects a printer in response to a selection command signal tri-state buffers 12 to control the selection.
