Assembly of ceramic tiles juxtaposed on a metal substrate

Assembly of composite material, made up of a metal support layer (1) on one face (2) of which are brazed some juxtaposed ceramic covering components (3). It incorporates some anchoring components (4) fixed to the face (2) and wedged against the sides (16) of the covering components. The anchoring components (4) may present some bulges above the fixing face (2) and that bite into the lateral faces of the ceramic tiles. The ceramic tiles may be refractories of a fibre composite material, such as carbon - carbon, carbon - silicon carbide or silicon carbide - silicon carbide whilst the metal support layer may be an alloy of copper or nickel. The method of fabricating this assembly is also claimed, in which the anchoring components (4) are fixed to the face (2) of the metal support layer (1) by solid phase diffusion welding or brazing during a cold isostatic compression stage.
