The seat (10) has a squab (20) with a fixed (24) and movable (26) section hinged together and which can be extended together to form a lower lounge section (30). It has a back (22) which can pivot around an axis (32) on support posts (18) to form an upper lounge section. Stops (36,38) selectively hold the squab in the seat and lounge positions. Automatic locks (40) are provided to selectively hold the back in the lounge and seat positions. A pedal (56) controls the locks. Two safety belts (74.76) are fixed respectively to the seat squab and back.
