The coils are positioned opposite each other and are excited alternately. The tattooing device comprises a frame to which an armature is so fixed that it can oscillate freely in a plane. The armature is fixed to a fixture on one side and in its oscillation plane one or more coils are so fixed that their magnetic fields can give rise to or influence the oscillations of the armature. On the opposite side to the fixture, is a device to which a thruster is fitted. The thruster is guided by the hand grip so that the needle attached to it extends through the needle window.
