Composite surfacing material comprises an upper porous layer (10), second layer (20) and a mattress (21) of random-laid synthetic fibres with a specific index of 95% over a bottom layer (22 a) of a non-woven hydrophilic material. Preferably the hydrophilic layer is of polyester fibres coated with polyamide and thermally welded. The synthetic fibres of the mattress are polyamide, preferably polyamide 6, and the different layers of the surfacing material can be covered with a synthetic grass. The second layer (20) is a non-woven hydrophilic material (porosity = 3-5 s<-1>). The upper layer (10) is granulated rubber.
