Gas-permeable, dimensionally stabilised nonwoven fabric

Gas-permeable, dimensionally-stable non-woven fabric (I)made from thermoplastic polymers or materials (II) by the melt blowing process. Material (I) is obtained from a base fabric (I') which has no dimensional stability when first produced, by subjecting fabric (I') to one or more further treatments or leaving it for a further reaction time. Also claimed is a process for the production of (I) by making melt-blown fabric (I'), laying it down on a support which preserves the dimensions of (I'), and stabilising it by treatment or further reaction as above.
