The structure (1) of filament yarns, where the wefts (3) are bonded at their intersection points with the warps (2) to prevent shifting, has materials for the upper and lower warps (2) and wefts (3) where at least one of the two yarn materials has a higher melting point and a copolymer of a low melting point. The warps (2) and wefts (3) are bonded together at their intersection points (4) by fusing the copolymers together. Also claimed is a mfg. process where the assembled filament yarn structure (1) is passed through a heating unit, with the warps (2) and wefts (3) in position. The applied heat is higher than the melting point of the copolymer but below the melting point of polyester. After melting, the copolymer is fixed by pressure. Also claimed is an appts. with a heating zone directly after the wefts (3) have been inserted between the warps (2), between the warp beam and material winder. The applied heat is higher than the melting point of the copolymer, but lower than the melting point of the other material. The heating zone is followed by a fixing zone.
