The current supply apparatus has a regenerative energy source (10) which generates a dc current esp. a solar generator. It also has a current regulator (60) which converts the direct current into an alternating current for feeding into the ac network. The apparatus also has an effective current control unit (30) formed to set an effective control current. It also has a reactive current control unit (40) dependent on the effective control current to set a reactive control current. The current regulator (60) generates the alternating current in dependence on values of the effective and reactive control current. Preferably the effective current control unit has a device for setting an operating point of maximal power of the regenerative energy source (10).
