A system for operating industrial plants in the megawatt range, in particular primary industry installations, has at least one electromotor and at least two bridge circuits which form a part of at least one frequency converter that connects the electromor to an alternating voltage energy supply network. The bridge circuits have power semiconductors which are turned on and/or off, i.e. switched at a particular switching frequency. The switching frequency of at least one bridge circuit equals the fundamental component or a multiple of the fundamental component of the alternating voltage of the energy supply network and the switching frequency of at least another bridge circuit equals another multiple of the fundamental frequency of the alternating voltage of the energy supply network, the switching frequencies of the bridge circuits alternating between these two. |
