PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input the codes of ITU-T(international telecommunication union-telecommunication section) recommendation by preparing the symbols to identify a subaddress signal(SUB), a selective polling signal(SEP) and a password signal(PWD) respect ively. SOLUTION: The symbols '/' and '&' are used for identification of SUB/SEP and PWD of an ITU-T mode respectively, and the keys corresponding to these symbols are prepared at an operation part 104 of a facsimile equipment. When a user wants the input of a PWD, he pushes a PWD key corresponding to the symbol '&'. If the PWD is not registered yet, the symbol '&' is shown for the PWD on a display and it's notified to the user that the code inputted next is registered as a PWD. In the same way, a SUB/SEP key is pushed when the input of a SUB/SEP is desired. Thus, the symbol '/' is shown on the display for the SUB/SEP and a SUB/SEP code can be inputted.
