In an accumulator, an oil recollection piping is maintained in a sealed recipient with its lower end closed, the piping has a plurality of oil recollection openings separated in a vertical direction and a communication port to communicate with a discharge piping. The communication port is placed close to the lower oil recollection opening or on the current side below the opening. Therefore, a liquid refrigerant excess flowing from the accumulator is avoided even though a large amount of liquid refrigerant remains in the sealed recipient.
