Disclosed is a food packaging in the form of a shape-retaining preformed carrier shell comprising an upper peripheral edge (52), with a preferably oxygen-tight covering foil (20) to hermetically seal the inner space of the container. The edge (52) comprises individual edge segments (54) to fix the covering foil (24), wherein the edge (52) is formed on the outer side in such a way that the edge segments (54) evenly close each other in a closed position. Further disclosed is a method and a device for the production of oxygen-tight packaging, wherein preformed and shape-retaining carrier shells are fed by a dispenser. Said shells are covered with a plastic compound foil in a forming station. In order to enhance stability, the cardboard cuts (10) in the carrier shell rows are interconnected by connecting pieces that coincide with the edge (52) of the container thereby forming one piece. The shells pass through the food packaging installations in rows and synchronically and are sealed together. |
