The invention relates to a method for preparing zeolite of two different qualities, wherein a hydroxide solution is added to fly ash and the thus resulting mixture is separated into fly ash residue and silica extract, wherein the fly ash residue is then mixed with a hydroxide solution to form a reaction mixture, the reaction mixture is heated to a temperature of between 80 DEG C and 150 DEG C for a period of 10 to 50 hours, wherein the fly ash is held continuously in suspension by stirring, and fly ash residues containing the zeolite product are subsequently separated from the process water. According to a preferred embodiment aluminium (hydr)oxide is added to the resulting silica extract and the thus resulting mixture is incubated at increased temperature according to the above method in order to synthesize pure zeolite. According to another preferred embodiment of this process, fly ash from waste incineration plants is converted into a zeolite-immobilizer as according to the above method and with optional addition of required extra aluminium (hydr)oxide and silica. |
