PROCEDURE FOR ROUGHENING PLASTIC FOILS AND ROUGHENED PLASTIC FOILS MADE BY THE PROCEDURE

Thermoplastics film has particles of the film material, or a material compatible therewith, welded to its surface, the particles having such a size and/or abrasion resistance that a suitable roughened surface is provided. The film and a process of forming such a film by bringing the particles into contact with a film having sufficient reserve heat to effect welding are claimed. Also claimed is a process and system for preventing relative sliding between two thermoplastics film by providing one film with particles as above, with a second film having a loose fibrous structure bonded to surface so that the protrusions of the particles on the one film can interlock between the fibres on the other film.
