A building facade (F) may be cleaned by a laser nacelle (3) which is mounted on a telescopic arm attached to a truck (1). The laser nacelle (3) contains a laser source (4) and a mirror (5) which sweeps the light on to the facade (F). The mirror (5) is shaped such that it is able to cover projections and direct laser light to all parts of them. The distance from the mirror to the facade is measured by a sensor which also indicates surface quality and the need for variation in sweeping times. Remote observation and operation from the truck is provided by a camera (7) and control unit (6).
