PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent idling of a vehicle by avoiding the state that power transmission is interrupted for a long time between an engine and a driving system of a vehicle even in the case that gears in the target transmission stage are not meshed with each other under, for instant, a cold state, in a transmission control device which outputs a transmission command signal to a transmission in the case that the target transmission stage is different from the present stage, changes over the transmission stage with the target one upon the transmission command signal, and outputs a transmission complete signal when shifting to the target stage is completed. SOLUTION: When transmission complete signal is not obtained from a transmission after passage of first specified time from starting of transmission, a transmission command signal is output for shifting the transmission stage adjacent to the target transmission stage instead of a transmission command signal to obtain the target transmission stage. When the transmission to the adjacent stage is completed, a transmission device 3 outputs the transmission complete signal and a clutch 2 is connected by means of a clutch driving means 2a. Power transmission is thus carried out between an internal combustion engine 1 and a driving system. |
