PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method capable of producing an optical fiber connector with high accuracy in low cost and a mold therefor. SOLUTION: This optical fiber connector is produced by a method wherein a mold equipped with a lower mold 1 and a slider 2 capable of moving before and behind in front of the lower mold 1 is prepared and the leading end part of an optical fiber cord 7 exposed in the order of a coating 15 and an optical fiber 13 from an outer skin 14 is arranged in the cavity 4a of the lower mold 1 along the axis of the cavity 4a and the optical fiber 13 is grasped by mutually opposed positioning pins 10 to be positioned on the axis of the cavity 4a and, thereafter, the slider 2 is moved toward the lower mold 1 to insert the leading end of the optical fiber 13 into the positioning hole 16 provided to the slider 2 to be positioned on the axis of the cavity 4c and, after mold clamping, a resin is injected into a ferrule molding space 4 in this state to be solidified before demolded.
