PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative image recording material capable of forming a printing plate direcly from digital data superior in cross-linkability with a cross-linking agent and consequently image film strength and good in printing resistance at the time of printing by incorporating a specified polyurethane resin and a compound cross-linkable by an acid and an specified acid generator. SOLUTION: This recording material contains the polyurethane resin having carboxylic groups and the acid-cross-linkable compound and a compound to be allowed to generate an acid by light or heat. This image forming material is imagewise irradiated with light or heat, and the acid generator is allowed to generate an acid, the polyurethane resin having carboxylic acid groups and the cross-linking agent are promoted to cross-link to each other to form an image recording material for a printing plate, thus permitting the cross-linked film to be strong and the recording material to be high in printing resistance. |
