PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve print quality by using a single secondary color liquid drop, in place of two or more primary color liquid drops so as to save the liquid drops of a liquid ink, thereby reducing production of dirt due to the liquid ink dried partially. SOLUTION: A host computer 10 gives image data to a raster image- processing unit (RIP) 12, where four image signals are produced separately, and then the C, M, Y, K signals resulting from them are fed to a converter 14. The converter 14 provides 8 respective outputs, that is, C, M, Y, R, G, B outputs and two black outputs K1, K2 for printing heads 2 respectively. The outputs K1, K2 represent a process black and a pure black (single black) respectively. For example, one small drop of a secondary coloring agent (red) is used in place of the combination of respective small drops of primary magneta and yellow coloring agents. |
