When the seat leg is inserted in the aperture in the top of the respective floor rail (26), the tapered portion (54,56,70) enters between the lips (40) of the sprung sides of the floor rail, which grip the seat base in the indentations (70). The head (98) of the plunger (96) forces the inwardly biased sprung arms (84) outwards so that the tongues (94) spread the inner sides (46) of the rail and disengage the lock formed by the projections against the indentations in the base of the leg. As the seat leg is withdrawn, the plunger is withdrawn by a spring allowing the arms and tongues to flex inwards and clear the projections.
