Electrically-driven cogwheel pump

The pump has a pump housing (2), projecting beyond a pump housing cover (11) so that it can be secured to the housing of the electric drive motor (1), to form a fluid-tigh unit. The cogwheels (17,18) contained within the pump housing are supported by bearings provided by the latter and the pump housing cover (19,20,21,22), as in EP 96118682.2. A given spacing between the cogwheels and the inside wall of the pump housing space (14) containing the cogwheels is ensured via locating pins and a fluid coupling between the latter pump housing space and a second pump housing space in which on of the cogwheels is coupled to the output shaft (4) of the electric motor.
