摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of each part in a device and to obtain high-quality images by controlling the melt viscosity of a toner to a specified range and controlling the glass transition temp. of the toner to a specified value or higher. SOLUTION: A toner (color resin fine particles) is dispersed in an electrically insulating medium liquid. The color resin fine particles have <=1×10<5> poise and >=2×10<2> poise melt viscosity (η) at 100 deg.C in a dry state, and has >=20 deg.C glass transition temp. The toner can be changed into such a fused state at <=100 deg.C that the toner in a toner image to be thermally transferred or fixed to a recording material can be treated, and therefore, the visible toner image can be transferred or fixed to a recording material at such a temp. that an electrostatic latent image holding body or an intermediate transfer body are not thermally damaged. Moreover, the carrier liquid in the liquid developer does not completely vaporize but remains and acts as a release agent in the contact nip region between a fixing heat roller and the recording material.
