FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes novel salicylic acid derivatives of formula: Het-NR-SO<SB>2</SB>-Ph<SP>1</SP>-A-Ph<SP>2</SP>(COOH)(OH) (I), wherein Het represents (R<SB>1</SB>,R<SB>2</SB>,R<SB>3</SB>)-Het ; Het is cyclic system <EMI ID=0.50 HE=12 WI=9 TI=CHI> in which free valency is bonded with NR; X is group: (a)-O-CH=CH-, -CH=CH-O; CH=CH-S or (b)-CH= CH- CH= CH-, -CH-CH-CH=N-, -CH=N-CH=CH-, -CH-N=CH-, -N=CH- CH=CH-; R<SB>1</SB>,R<SB>2</SB> and R<SB>3</SB> are substituents at carbon atom in Het and are hydrogen, C<SB>1</SB>-C<SB>6</SB>-alkyl, halogen, hydroxy or benzyloxy; R is hydrogen or C<SB>1</SB>-C<SB>6</SB>-alkyl; Ph is phenylene; Ph<SP>2</SP>- is phenyl which is substituted by halogen, lower alkyl or benzyloxy, provided that carboxy and hydroxy groups are in ortho-position to each other; A is - <EMI ID=0.51 HE=3 WI=9 TI=CHI> -CH=CH-, -CH<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>-, -CO-CH=CH, CH=CH= CO-. Compounds of formula I are prepared by reacting compounds (R<SB>1</SB>,R<SB>2</SB>,R<SB>3</SB>) - Het -NRH and ClSO<SB>2</SB>Ph<SP>1</SP>-AS-Ph (COOH) (OH). Compounds (I) have high immunomodulating activity and are useful for medical treatment of ulcer colitis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
