PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal made of metals which has high printing characteristics and suggests a better fortune, and manufacture thereof. SOLUTION: A seal made of precious metal in which at least a printing part thereof is made of precious metal, which has a porosity of 0.3-10% and in which pares having mean pore diameter of 0.5-20μm are uniformly dispersed. Or the precious metal is made, if required, of gold or its alloy, silver or its alloy, or platinum or its alloy. And the seal made of precious metal is obtained, if required, by preparing a slurry containing powder of precious metal, molding the slurry containing the precious metal and burning the molded bodies. Further the slurry is composed of the powder of precious metal and organic binder and the organic binder contains a water-soluble resin binder, a surface active agent, and if necessary, a plasticizer and/or foaming agent, and the remainder is water.
