OPTICAL RECEIVER

摘要

This optical receiver comprises an avalanche photodiode (APD) 1, pre-amplifier 2 and a current shunting means disposed between the APD and its bias supply. When the optical input power exceeds the predetermined level, the current shunting become effective. Then, the photocurrent generated in the APD is fed to the current shunting circuit and the APD is enough biased to hold the stable avalanche condition.
