PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of memory that stores an area identification signal in the case of performing deviding to half by storing an area identification signal that is identified at the time of a 1st reading and reading it at the time of the 2nd and succeeding reading. SOLUTION: A piece of paper of RGB data is stored in image memory, and also a K image for a 1st page is made based on the RGB data in the size of 1/2 first half. Next, a K image for a 2nd page is made based on the RGB data in the size of 1/2 latter half. Similarly with the following, a C image, an M image and a Y image are produced. At the time of producing each image 2×4 times, because a line drawing recognizing part 13a processes the same data that is stored in the image memory, selectors A51 and B52 select outputs of image density converting parts A47 and B48 respectively and line drawing decision result memory 49 and 50 are not used.
